PediPathways, Inc is the only exclusive
pediatric comfort care program in Massachusetts. It was established
in 2007 and is one of less than 10 in the entire country. PediPathways
was developed by a nurse who believed in the art and science of
nursing. She applied her passion and skills to the dire need for
a specialized pediatric comfort care program within her community.
Along with a team of equally compassionate, motivated professionals,
they created a place that families can turn to in their time of
need. We provide services for children who are facing life-limiting
illness. Includes cancer, AIDS, congenital abnormalities and other
advanced illnesses. We address the needs of the children as well
as their families. We strive to improve the quality of life and
meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during the course
of illness.
Due to advancements in medicine, technology,
and treatments, we have had patients that have outlived their prognosis
into adulthood. We have now extended care to these young adults
who are not always accepted into other comfort care programs due
to their age. (21yrs +)
PediPathways relies on the belief that
each of us has the right to live free from pain, die with dignity,
and that our loved ones have access to the necessary support. The
focus is on care that is provided in the child’s home or whereever
the child happens to be. Care is available to infants, children,
and adolescents of any religion, race, or social economical status.
